Oseyra for Android: privacy policy
Last updated November 2, 2026
Oseyra is made by Hatch Media LLC, a Florida company ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Oseyra app for Android. Questions: support@oseyra.com.
The short version
Your conversations, your companion's memories and everything you let your companion look at stay on your phone. Your companion's mind (the AI model that writes their replies) and their voice run on our cloud servers: for each reply, what's needed to answer is sent to our server, used to make the reply and the speech, and then discarded. We don't log or store it, we never use it to train AI, and we never use it for advertising. There are no ads and no tracking in the app.
What stays on your phone
- Conversations and memories. Your conversation history and your companion's memories, moods and notes are stored in the app's private storage on your phone. They're excluded from Android backups and device transfers. You can delete everything with Settings → Erase everything.
- Lock. If you turn on the lock, your fingerprint, face or screen lock is checked by Android; the app never receives your biometric data.
Listening
When you talk, your phone's speech recognition service (usually Google's) turns your voice into text. Depending on your phone, this happens on the device or on the speech service's servers under that provider's privacy policy. We never receive your voice audio, only the text of what you said, as part of the conversation.
How your companion thinks and speaks
Your companion's mind and voice run on our cloud servers, hosted by a cloud computing provider (Modal).
- What is sent. For each reply: the conversation so far as text, your companion's instructions, and anything your companion brings into that reply, such as a memory or something from your calendar.
- How it's used. Only to write the reply and turn it into speech. Our server sends the reply back and discards what it received. We don't log or store it, and it's never used to train AI.
- What we measure. To apply your plan's monthly hours, our server counts how much time your subscription uses each month. It records time only, never what was said.
- Other languages. Your companion's expressive voice speaks English. In other languages, replies are spoken by your phone's own text-to-speech voice, on your phone.
Things you can let your companion use
Each is off until you allow it, and you can turn it off at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Oseyra → Permissions. Your companion reads them on your phone when you ask about them; only what's needed for that answer is sent to our server, for that reply only, and isn't kept.
- Calendar: to tell you what's coming up and, when you ask, add events and reminders (a reminder is a calendar event with an alert).
- Contacts: to look up people you mention and remember birthdays.
- Location (approximate, while you're using the app): for the weather where you are. Weather comes from Apple Weather through our server: your approximate location (rounded to about 1 km) is sent to our server and on to Apple for the forecast, and isn't stored.
- Health Connect (read only): your steps, distance, active calories, sleep, resting heart rate and workouts, so your companion can talk with you about them. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, never stored on our servers and never shared with anyone else. Oseyra never writes to Health Connect. Oseyra's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Files: one folder you choose with Android's folder picker. Your companion can list, search and read the text files in it; it can't see anything else.
What we receive and keep
- Your subscription. Purchases are made through Google Play. When you subscribe, the app sends Google Play's purchase token to our server, which checks it with Google and creates a license for your subscription. We keep the license, your plan, Google's purchase and order identifiers and the subscription's dates, to give you your plan's hours. Google doesn't give us your name, email or payment details.
- Monthly usage time for your subscription, as above.
- Reports. If you report a reply, we receive the reply you reported and the reason you chose, and nothing else, to improve your companion's behavior.
- Support emails you send us.
We don't sell your information, share it for advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Children
Oseyra is for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
How long we keep things
License and subscription records are kept while your subscription is active and for up to 7 years afterwards for tax and accounting. Monthly usage counts are kept for up to 24 months. Reports and support emails are kept for up to 24 months. What's sent for a reply isn't kept at all.
Your rights and deleting your account
You can delete everything on your phone with Settings → Erase everything, or delete your account with Settings → Delete account, which also removes your subscription records from our server (cancel the subscription itself in Google Play, since Google bills it). If you no longer have the app, email support@oseyra.com from any address with your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.) and we'll delete your records within 30 days. You can stop any permission in Android Settings. To ask for a copy of what we hold about your subscription, email support@oseyra.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have further rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Security
Everything between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Our servers are protected by access controls, and what's sent for a reply is discarded once the reply is made.
Changes
We'll update the date above when this policy changes and tell you in the app about significant changes before they apply.
